The personal learning network that I signed up for and created was "Scoop It". I chose Scoop it because it seemed very easy to navigate through and posting ideas/concepts seems fairly easy especially once I link it to my twitter. In scoop it you can chose to follow or scoop a post. To start myself off in this new site, I chose to follow specific topics that was directed towards coaching in sports, and a few that where directed towards physical education. I chose to follow these specific topics due to the fact that I am a physical educator and coach. www.scoopit/u/cbrittnie.
The internet has positively impacted my personal learning by allowing me to be able to research and obtain information about various topics, concepts, people and places. The list is endless. From my findings on the internet I am able to gain more academic knowledge. The site I tend to go to regularly is Google. Through google I am able to narrow my search and find scholarly articles about my topic or the subject of interest.
The the strengths video was quite interesting and allowed me to view my strengths in a different perspective There are specific aspects in my career as a physical educator where I feel are my greatest strengths. Some of those being my presentation of athletic fitness skills, and specific sport content, along with implementing good class management strategies. Being knowledgeable in general fitness and the physical education content is a profitable foundation for my strengths.
I believe microblogging in education/athletics can be very beneficial. It is a way for individuals to communicate and share any advice/information about material/ events that is occurring. It is a way to get an individuals point across in a short effective manner.
Personally I like the fact in being able to microblog about athletics. Microblogging about athletics can be interesting especially when the views of others are extremely different from yours. One would be able to view other's opinions or thoughts. The PWP of one educator that I felt was done pretty well was DeAnna Butler's (deanna.weebly.com). I liked how detailed she was about academic and professional background. I believe she chose to represent herself in a progressional manner. A feature from her page that I would copy would be the template and honestly I would not change a thing.
One thing about me that, everyone should know is that I love participating in fun activities, one of those activities being Sky Diving. :)
